 | | An historian and distant relative of Pepys: the connection may have been through Anne Sanderson, second wife of Richard Pepys of the parish of Great St Bartholomew’s, or/and through Mary Pepys, sister of the same Richard, wife of Robert Sanderson. |
 | | He wrote two historical works, “A compleat history of the lives and reigns of Mary Queen of Scotland, and of her son and successor, James” (1656); and “A compleat history of the life and raigne of King Charles from his cradle to the grave” (1658), the latter an exercise in hagiography. |
