Subsequent tortures, which included tearing Demiana's flesh and placing her in boiling oil, also failed to to ensure her loyality to the gods of the Roman Empire.

She is a saint from the village of Garagous, she used to work as a nurse with the medical battalion that traveled to the Swiss borders where she worked on teaching people cleanness and hygienic measures and for her asepsis many churches have been built on her name in many cities in Switzerland.
Her place in Garagous was dedicated by H.G Bishop Beemen in 4 / 12 / 1999 with the presence of H.G Bishop Estifanous, the general bishop at that time.

The altars and Icons at St. Mark Church in Cleveland were consecrated on Sunday, October 1, 1989, during my pastoral visit to the Coptic churches in the United States.
On the feast of St. Athanasius the Apostolic on May 15, 1990, His Grace Bishop Tadros of Port Said visited the church in Cleveland.
This phenomenon has added a good dimension to the report of the Coptic Orthodox Church among the churches of the world as had previously the appearance of the Virgin Mary in the church bearing her name in Zeitoun and in the church of St. Demiana in Pappadopolo in the years 1968 and 1986 consecutively.
