Friday night is "gig night" when visitors and locals can take a trip on the Spirit of St. Agnes to watch the islands six oared pilot gig, Shah, race against St. Marys and other off island gigs, followed by a hot chocolate and brandy in the Turks Head.

By 10 that morning, I was on St Agnes, gasping at Porth Killier beach, bouncing with hundreds of Chiff Chaffs feeding on the weed; hundreds of continental Robins, some with such pale breasts one had to look twice; and dozens of Black Redstarts.
This was the biggest fall I can recall in Scilly for many years; there were in excess of 300 Chiffchaffs, 500 Robins and 50 Black Redstarts on St Agnes alone and probably a similar density on the other islands.
St Agnes kept me busy though: over the next couple of days the Waxwing numbers grew to at least 12.

Last day to walk on the Isles of Scilly for St Agnes where I have finally convinced my fellow boaters that dropping anchor would be a good choice.
I have finished the isles of Scilly and this unbelievable good weather keeps on over England ; two days later I'll leave the boat behind to go walking on the Thames Path near London ; this is the only time I had to pay only a one-way ticket between England and mainland.

About the record of a first-winter Cream-coloured Courser [Cursorius cursor] found by Ashley Fisher and Bob Flood on 28th September 2004 on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly.
It was present on the Isles until 26th October when it (on the island St Mary's) collapsed, was taken into care and died the next day.
This is the 12th British record since 1900 and the first ever for Scilly.
