Charles West Marching Warriors scored 6 points higher than the next closest band as well as capturing "Best Visual" and "Best Color Guard." St. Charles West will take their show on the road this weekend to Murray State University in Murray, KY to compete in the Festival of Champions.
Randal D. Charles, Superintendent of Schools for the School District of the City of St. Charles, was “arrested” and locked up during the recent MDA Lockup Event hosted at the Ameristar Casino.
Charles raised over $1500 which stays in the St. Charles area to help local agencies with the fight against children with muscular dystrophy.

Charles Augustus Lindbergh II (February 4, 1902 - August 26, 1974) was a pioneering American aviator famous for the first solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean.
Lindbergh was born in Detroit, Michigan as son of Swedish immigrants.
Their two-year-old son Charles Augustus was abducted on March 1, 1932 from their home.

 FORT SAINT CHARLES
Historic Fort St. Charles was restored in 1950 by the Minnesota Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, who have contributed funds, time and hard physical labor under primitive conditions to clear the site and permanently mark it with a Memorial Altar and later a Chapel of pre-cast concrete logs.
Fort St. Charles was the point of departure for some of the most westerly explorations of its time and its use and maintenance helped lay the foundation for later development of the Northwest under the British.
Fort St. Charles was the longest occupied French post in Minnesota and is the only French fort in the state where remains of a contemporary Indian habitation area have been located nearby.

Martyrs of Uganda
When the executioners tried to tie Joseph's hands, he told them, "A Christian who gives his life for God is not afraid to die." He forgave Mwanga with all his heart but made one final plea for his repentance before he was beheaded and then burned on November 15, 1885.
Charles Lwanga took over the instruction and leadership of the Christian community at court -- and the charge of keeping the young boys and men out of Mwanga's hands.
The next morning Mwanga brought his whole court before him and separated the Christians from the rest by saying, "Those who do not pray stand by me, those who do pray stand over there." He demanded of the fifteen boys and young men (all under 25) if they were Christians and intended to remain Christians.

The architect was a Jesuit, architect, Pieter Huyssens, S.J. Huyssens had already built a church in Maastricht for the Jesuit order, and after the completion of this work he went to Rome in 1626 to study architecture for a year.
The facade of St. Charles Borromeo is clearly inspired by Il Gesu by Vignola in Rome, although it is slightly more ornate.
The interior of St. Charles Borromeo has no Gothic rib-vaulting, but instead a wooden tunnel vault which imitates the stone architecture of Italian High Renaissance and Baroque architecture.
