There is a single-chamber national assembly of 14 members, 11 elected by universal suffrage and three appointed by the governor general, two on the advice of the prime minister and one on the advice of the leader of the opposition, for a term of up to five years.
Nevis Island has its own assembly of five elected and three nominated members, a prime minister and cabinet, and a deputy governor general.
St Kitts (then called Liamuiga) and Nevis were named by Christopher Columbus in 1493.

It is commonly stated that the two stars symbolize the two islands, but in fact they stand for hope and liberty (source: [cra90] and [poe90]) In addition, Eve Devereux’s Identifying flags [dev94] gives further that green is for fertility, red for the liberation struggle, fl for the African heritage and yellow for sunshine.
The national flag of St. Kitts and Nevis features green for our fertile lands, yellow for our year-round sun-shine, fl for our African heritage, and red for our struggle from slavery through colonialism to independence.
I guess that this might be for two reasons, the latter more “probable” then the first: length of the name and two possibilities for the first part of the name.

At least six were flying overwater from Anguilla to this location.  Also, at the salt ponds in Philipsburg, there is a vegetated island in the center that was saturated in egrets - apparently a rookery.  I was unable to stop and ID species.
I had contact with Jim Johnson, a guide on Nevis, who was most helpful in providing a checklist of local birds and info as to good locations.
If on Statia, you do not want to miss the tour given by Josser Daniel, historian of the island, who is regularly called upon to conduct tours of the island for royalty and other high-ranking visitors.  It's quite an experience.  Again, ask at the dock.

At such time fifth freedom traffic rights of equivalent economic value to those operated by the designated airline of the Government of Canada shall be negotiated by the two Governments.
Similarly, no same plane service shall be operated between Montreal and Trinidad and Tobago via St. Christopher and Nevis until a designated airline of Trinidad and Tobago exercises traffic rights at Montreal under an air services agreement between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.
Toronto and Montreal may be operated as co-terminals following initiation of service to St. Christopher and Nevis by a Canadian designated airline.
