Marylebone Information Service also holds key Health Information resources, a substantial number of Open University publications, and is the London Depository for Amnesty International Archives, with publications and annual reports back to 1962.

  Quintin Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St Marylebone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Right Honourable Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St Marylebone, KG, CH, PC (October 9, 1907–October 12, 2001), formerly 2nd Viscount Hailsham (1950–1963), was a British Conservative politician.
However, when his wife was killed in a riding accident in 1978, he decided to return to active politics, and served again as Lord Chancellor from 1979 to 1987 under Margaret Thatcher.
Lord Hailsham of St Marylebone was appointed a Companion of Honour in 1975 and became a Knight of the Garter in 1988.

MARYLEBONE, a parish and parliamentary borough in the Holborn division of the hundred of Ossulstone, county Middlesex, forming the north-western portion of the metropolis, about 2½ miles N.W. by W. of St. Paul's.
The manor originally came from the Hobson family to Henry VIII., and was given by James I. to E. Foster: it subsequently passed to the Austens, and through Holles, Duke of Newcastle, to the Harleys, earls of Oxford, then to William Bentinck, Duke of Portland, and, finally, reverted to the crown in 1813.
Marylebone is the seat of a Superintendent Registry and a new County Court, but the part of the parish lying E. of Regent's Park belongs to Bloomsbury new County Court.

The first, circa 1200, dedicated to St John the Evangelist, was the parish church of Tyburn and stood in the vicinity of the present Marble Arch.
In 1400 it was demolished and a new church built nearer to the village of Marylebone.
This church was dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, by the bourne; the Ty bourne being a stream running from what is now Regent's Park down to the Thames.

By the end of the century the financial position of the school had deteriorated, and in 1908 it was accepted in trust by the London County Council and renamed St. Marylebone Grammar School.
After the First World War the building was extended and during the headmastership of P. Wayne, in many ways the third founder of the school, a playingfield was acquired, a country base established near Leith Hill (Surr.), and artistic activities were developed.
