		St Vladimir’s was invited to join the celebration of the bestowal of accreditation on St Tikhon’s Seminary by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS).
		In addition, on September 29 a seminary-wide "Community of Safety" workshop and discussion was held not only to fulfill a mandate from the Orthodox Church in America but also to raise the consciousness of future pastors and church workers on the issue of sexual abuse of children.
		The parish choir from St George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, Worchester, MA sang the responses to the Liturgy with the St Vladimir’s Seminary Chorale.

	Tikhon, Patriarkh of Moscow
		Hieromonk Tikhon was transferred from the Pskov Theological Seminary and assigned as inspector of the Kholm Theological Seminary; soon thereafter he became its rector, in the rank of Archimandrite.
		The so-called “renovationist” schism proved to be an especially tortured time for His Holiness Patriarch Tikhon and for the Russian Orthodox Church.
		On September 14, 1898, Vladyka Tikhon was dispatched abroad, to the distant to Diocese of America, to assume the very important role of Bishop of the Aleutians; in 1905, he was elevated to the rank of Archbishop.

		The Monastery of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk, North America's oldest monastery, was founded in 1905 by St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and Enlightener of North America, to serve as a spiritual center for Orthodox Christians on this continent.
		On Monday, May 30th, the 101st Annual Pilgrimage, celebrating the centennial of St. Tikhon's Monastery, concluded as multitudes of pilgrims gathered for the Divine Liturgy, prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
		The Brethren of the Monastery of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk thank everyone who attended the 101st Pilgimage on May 27-30, 2005 - marking the 100th Anniversary of its founding in 1905.

	Protopresbyter Alexander Schmemann: Metropolitan Leonty
		In 1906, the young and dynamic Bishop of the American Diocese, Tikhon, found in him a suitable candidate for the responsible and pioneering post of Rector of the newly established Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
		Born in 1876 in Kremenetz, Volhynia (Western Russia) in the family of a priest, Leonid Turkevich, the future Metropolitan, followed the classic way of Russian "clerics." After seminary studies in Volhynia, he enrolled at the Kiev Theological Academy and upon graduation in 1900 began a teaching career in ecclesiastical schools.
		What, however, distinguished Metropolitan Leonty from many of his "immigrant" contemporaries and colleagues, was his vision of American Orthodoxy, of the particular destiny and vocation of the Orthodox Church in the New World.
