Expo Line - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
From Stadium to New Westminster, the line is elevated, except for short at-grade sections between Nanaimo and Joyce Stations in east Vancouver and around the SkyTrain yards at Edmonds Station in Burnaby.
The Expo Line travels underground from Waterfront to Stadium Stations, mainly through the Dunsmuir Tunnel, a tunnel previously used by the Canadian Pacific Railway to connect its mainline tracks along Burrard Inlet to its former yard on False Creek.
From just west of Nanaimo Station all the way to New Westminster station, the Expo Line follows BC Electric 's former Central Park Line, which carried interurbans between Vancouver and New Westminster from 1890 to the early 1950s.

Chinatown is home to about 4,000 people, neighborhood leaders say, many of whom speak little English, live crowded in small apartments and work at low-paying jobs.
Chinatown's 2,000 residents were largely isolated and ignored - until the government needed their land.
And Chinatown was developing a reputation, at least among the larger white populace, as a place of mystery and intrigue, even danger.

1010 WINS - New York's All News Station : Bloomberg On Offensive For Stadium Plan
But the stadium funding is structured in such a way that New Yorkers will not vote on the project.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg is pushing to build a 75,000-seat stadium for football's New York Jets over a desolate train yard in Hell's Kitchen, a gritty section on Manhattan's West Side once known for Irish mobsters and union longshoremen.
Hell's Kitchen residents have complained that the stadium -- which would be near the Lincoln Tunnel and within walking distance of the Empire State Building on a pleasant day -- could paralyze neighborhood traffic.

 Northpinellas: Stadium could disrupt neighborhoods
I read with interest an item in the Nov. 14 St. Petersburg Times stating that the mayor of Philadelphia, John Street, has abandoned plans to build the Phillies a stadium in Chinatown because of criticism by neighbors and lawmakers.
Another suggestion would be to take over the old forest ranger station on SR 580 and create a dog park on that site.
Drew Street, NE Coachman and Old Coachman roads form a triangle surrounding the area, boxing in the stadium with several neighborhoods.

 Grand Central Terminal - NYCtourist.com
Although there is still a Penn Station, the original was an awe-inspiring building of beauty that was torn down in the name of progress.
Most people refer to this Beaux-Arts beauty as Grand Central Station but it's actually a Terminal because this is where train lines originate and terminate.
As you approach 42nd Street and Park Avenue from downtown, you'll be facing this triumphant facade featuring a fifty foot pediment with statues of Hercules, Minerva and Mercury surrounding a thirteen foot clock.

I can foresee me training to Dodger Stadium come summertime (is there a shuttle to the ball park from Union Station?), to MOCA, to the Disney Hall, for a beef dip at Philippe's Original.
It's still easy to reach Dodger Stadium, Chinatown and Philippe's via that sinuous concrete apron string known as the Pasadena Freeway.
As I waited for the Gold Line train to shove out of the Sierra Madre Villa (East Pasadena) station on Sunday afternoon, I looked around at the packed train cars and wondered where were all these people going?

SF Chinatown Lions Club President Jayne Leon, Miss Teen 2003, and Miss Charity were invited to an interview with World Channel 32 about our achievements, ambitions, and our appearances in upcoming events.
