		The three sectional staff (San-Jie-Gun) is a Chinese flail weapon that consists of three wooden or metal staffs connected by metal rings or rope.
		The total length of the weapon is greater than that of the short single staff known in Japanese as a bo, about the same as the Chinese staff, the gun, creating a larger circle of available targets around the combatant.
		The best-known user of the three sectional staff in film is Gordon Liu Chia-Hui, who fought with the staff in several Shaw Brothers martial arts films of the 1970s and early 1980s under the direction of his adopted brother Liu Chia-Liang.

		I have somewhere around twenty bo staffs, in an effort to find one that is "just right" for me. I have settled on a ultra lightweight bo that is silver and red and has red grip tape around the center.
		The bo staff itself is believed to have been developed from the tenbin, a pole balanced on the shoulders, used to carry buckets hanging from each end with water or grain.
