Third Stage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Third Stage is the third album by hard rock band Boston released September 26, 1986 on MCA Records.
The album was recorded at Tom Scholz' Hideaway Studio over a three-year period "between floods and power failures".
The album was a first, in many respects: the first Boston LP to feature electronic drum samples, the first to feature songs not written by either Scholz or Delp and the first Boston LP without the three original members Barry Goudreau, Sib Hashian and Fran Sheehan.

Stage Fright (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stage Fright was the third long player by Canadian-American rockers The Band.
Much more of a rock album than its predecessors, it was a departure from their previous two efforts in that its tone was darker and featured less of the harmony vocal blend that had been a centerpiece of those two albums.
Engineered by an up-and-coming Todd Rundgren, and produced by the group themselves for the first time, the album was recorded in their homebase of Woodstock, New York.

Solo album of Begnagrad accordionist and leader, was in Nimal, one of the RIO legends.
Three distinct faces of his sound are represented here: The album opener is the stunning 23 minute three part symphonic title track, on which JP abstains from reliance on synthesizers, and uses a small orchestra to achieve his ends instead.
The second album is excellent, like Magma at their most percussive, with plenty of strange vocal chorusing and lots of other effects.

Rock Ahead - CD Album review - Martin Barre - Stage Left - solo album from Jethro Tull guitarist   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
Stage Left contains thirteen instrumental tracks and one track with vocals provided by Simon Burrett and to be honest I think the vocal track could have been left off the final running order as it does seem as though it is tacked on at the end and therefore stands out.
Stage Left is an album of finely crafted pieces of guitar music with the exception of the one vocal track previously mentioned.
Stage Left then is one for the guitar fans for sure but one, which also may well draw in lovers of finely, crafted and played instrumental music.

 The Band Album Reviews
Stage Fright (Capitol ’70, '00) Rating: A- Though not quite as fresh or consistent as Music From Big Pink or The Band, time has only been kind to Stage Fright, which was widely perceived as a disappointment upon its release.
Stage Fright can be seen as the band’s reaction to fame and fortune and all its attendant excesses (primarily drugs), and as a result the album sounds slightly world weary and features a darker hued perspective.
They give it their all, though, and this is still an essential album because of the many guests who were invited for this concert, which sent The Band off in grand style (it was their last concert with all the original band members).

David Bowie - Stage (Limited Edition Live) CD Review
This reissue on compact disc of Stage, considered the finest of David Bowie’s live recordings, presents the songs in their original order of play and with precise reproduction, something that was simply not available on vinyl due to its fidelity and time limitations.
What Stage does very well, beyond capturing clear and finely mixed music, is reproducing the fullness of sound that occurs in a large theatre, hall, stage or arena.
For Bowie fans of all ages, whether or not you were even alive when Stage was recorded, and for those who want to know what a live recorded performance is supposed to sound like, this reissued two-disc Stage is for you and you and you.

The album marked Rush's foray into the techno-oriented 1980s, via the increased use of electronic instrumentation (keyboards, sequencers, electric violin).
Drifting farther away from their hallmark extended instrumentals, the band turned out a rather "industry standard" eight songs, the longest of which is 6:24.
Close scrutiny of the album's inner artwork (e.g., the "Blueprint") reveals not only their intent to maintain continuity within certain musical and lyrical themes, but also their self-deprecating sense of humour.

In this, essentially a greatest hits album with a twist, Jars of Clay shows every aspect of their musical talent, producing songs that elicit different emotions throughout the duration of the album.
While the Christian themes are very heavy throughout the album, with track titles such as "Love Song for a Savior," "Redemption" and "Needful Hands," the direct Christian theme is not the sum of what the album covers lyrically.
From the Stage is a disc that is enjoyable for anyone and everyone as the music styles jump all over the place, while maintaining a uniquely consistent Jars of Clay style and sound throughout the entirety of the disc.

Third Stage has some strong moments, especially the number one hit "Amanda" where the band blends acoustic and electric guitars to complement the layered vocals.
Given the time between albums and the changes in the pop landscape, it was a little disappointing to find Boston stuck in the same sound.
The album still sounds great when it works on all cylinders ("We're Ready," "Cool the Engines"), but the album is not filled with enough satisfying moments.

Sound quality is crisper, instrumentation clearer at times, and the actual running order of the live shows has been followed, rather than the chronological ordering of songs as on the initial releases.
High energy, both from the crowd and stage, are obvious in this set, and the album flows much better with the track list being set to actual stage set lists, instead of the previously released track listing.
The onus of this record is the transition from guitar rock to more of a keyboard oriented sound, and it is well documented how David was reworking songs into his newly chosen format.

Stage was David Bowie's second live double album, documenting his supporting tour for Heroes.
Though the newer material isn't arranged in a different manner than the studio versions -- and they lack some of the studio trickery that made the originals so thrilling -- the live versions do illustrate that much of the innovation of the Bowie-Eno collaborations lies in their subversion of conventional song structure.
That said, Stage doesn't offer enough revelations to make it necessary for anyone but hardcore Bowie fanatics.

Since the album’s release in February 2002, "Live at the Backgate Stage" has earned Misty River a spot as one of the top-selling Northwest bands in the Portland area (The Oregonian, 5/10/02.) The album has also been featured as one of the top-selling CDs on CDBaby.com.
Gaining both national and international airplay, "Live at the Backgate Stage" is a blend of folk, country, and bluegrass styles that appeals to a wide audience.

The new solo effort, entitled “Stage Left”, a nod to his position on the Jethro Tull set is unmistakably a Martin Barre production.
Martin’s style of writing and his sound has definitely progressed over the course of his three solo albums, yet it still retains that key sound and style you expect from Martin Barre.
The album starts off with a really fun number titled “Count The Chickens” and then traverses a vast musical range of the guitar, from the sometimes raw “Nelly Returns”, to the soft, laid back guitar lines that flow from “Celestial Servings”, to the fast, upbeat acoustic variations on a theme shown off in “D.I.Y.”.

To me the magic of this album begins with 'The Lie' (inspired by the named church art) and continues all the way to the ending of 'A Louse Is Not a Home', a gorgeous 12- minute study of alienation which would be perfectly at home in Pawn Hearts (get the mp3!).
