Secondly, and perhaps most shockingly, the two falls on the Merced River which comprise the Giant Staircase, Vernal and Nevada Falls, were both shown to be much shorter than previously thought.
Pictures for Bridal Veil Falls in Provo, Utah (perhaps the best pictures we have seen of that waterfall) are up, as are shots for Jog Falls in India, Feigefossen, Krunefossen and Nyastølfossen (second picture) in Norway and the elusive Salto Yutaje in Venezuela.
In India, we found evidence that Dudhsagar Falls, commonly thought to be 1968 feet, or 600 meters, tall, actually stands 1017 feet, or 310 meters tall.

Cave of the Winds is a cavern located behind the Bridal Veil Falls, created by an overhanging ledge of Lockport Dolostone rock at the top of the gorge, over which the Bridal Veil Falls flowed.
Today's "Cave of the Winds" is a guided adventure to the base of the Niagara Gorge and over a series of wooden decks below the Bridal Veil/Luna Falls coming within twenty five (25) feet from the Falls on the hurricane deck.
Accessed by staircase since 1829, and by elevator since 1925, but by 1955 the instability of the eroded overhanging ledge became too dangerous for tourists, and the cave was reduced to only 30 feet, the original Cave was destroyed with dynamite in 1955.
