  Stanley Waters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Waters enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1941, and chose to remain in the military after the war.
While Waters did not choose to participate as a Reform Party candidate in the federal election of 1988, he was seen as one of the party's most popular early spokesmen and policy communicators, speaking at numerous party rallies and events from 1987 to 1991.
On June 11, 1990, Stan Waters was sworn in as Canada's first democratically elected Senator.

After the trial starts, Stan is all most run down in the parking garage, his dog is also killed in their back yard, and his trial note book is stolen out of his office the night before a court appearance and he must recreate the note book in 8 hours before court reconvenes.

Unfortunately Stan Waters passed away before he had the chance to really get settled into the role of a Senator.
