Stanislaus County, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The county is named for the Stanislaus River, first discovered by Gabriel Moraga in 1806, and later renamed Rio Estanislao in honor of Estanislao, a mission-educated renegade Native American chief who led a band of Indians in a series of battles against Mexican troops until finally being defeated by General Mariano Vallejo in 1826.
Estanislao was his baptismal name, the Spanish rendition of Stanislaus, itself the Latin rendition of the name of an 11th century Catholic saint from Poland, St. Stanislaw.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,923 km² (1,515 mi²).

Pursuant to a UIFSA petition filed in California on April 16, 1991, a motion for judgment on arrears was filed in Pulaski County Chancery Court, alleging that an arrearage of $4,310.18 had accrued from September 15, 1979, through April 30, 1990, and praying for judgment in that amount.
California acknowledges that a Satisfaction of Judgment was entered in this case, but argues that it pertained only to the 1993 order entered by Pulaski County Chancery Court and that the arrearage not affected by the Satisfaction of Judgment remains valid until it is paid in full.
Regarding California's arguments concerning the imposition of interest on the arrearage, it is not disputed that California could have asked for interest at the time it transmitted its UIFSA petitions to Arkansas; indeed the form that California transmitted to Arkansas had a section for claiming interest payments that had not been filled in.
