		Stanwells were the first of the Danish freehands to be sold in any quantity in the U.S., beginning in the early 1960's.
		Arguably one of the finest machine-made pipes in the world, Stanwell's list of carvers who have either worked for the company as a carver or designer reads like a "Who's Who" of the Danish pipe world, starting with the "Dean" of Danish carvers, Sixten Ivaarsen.
