Fay was a new member of the Star Fox team, and is a white poodle with a pink bow in her hair.
Additionally, several concepts have been reused in Star Fox Command for the Nintendo DS — among these are the map screen gameplay element and the ability to choose from multiple characters, each with their own fighters and statistics.

Star Fox Command, released for the Nintendo DS in 2006, marks the franchise's first game on a portable system, as well as its first foray into online gaming, and appears to be a more or less full revival of the cancelled Star Fox 2.

StarFox 2 was originally planned for release on the Super NES in late 1994 (but later pushed back to 95).
In 1999, a playable prototype of Star Fox 2 was unearthed, but it was really very early; levels could be played and explored but not beaten, and there was no real "game" to speak of.
I was a huge fan of Star Fox so getting to see part 2 in such a completed state is very cool.

After the ROM was discovered I had made a Star Fox 2 cart and did quite a bit of play testing on it before giving it away to the discoverer of the ROM.

Quite a while ago, Star Fox 2 was suppose to come out sor the snes, it never did, it got canned even though it was finished.
The plane segments in Star Fox Adventures were ok, but a wee bit too short for me. The last boss was cool, though.
Star Fox 64 was the original reason I picked up the extra 3 controllers for the system (nothing beats blasting your buddies out of the air.).

A Star Fox: Assault beta-tester informed Matt Casamassina of IGN Cube that Namco only included one of the expected three "Namco Classic mini-games" in the US and PAL versions of the game.
IGN have updated their GameCube release schedule, and it seems the US release of StarFox 2 has been moved back to October 15th of this year (it had previously been slated for the same date in June).

There are a couple stages where you control Fox on the ground while the rest of the Star Fox team fights a battle in the sky.
Although it doesn't look quite as lush as Star Fox Adventures (and yes, there is a stage that takes place on Adventures' dinosaur planet of Sauria), it still looks plenty slick, especially during the flying missions.
