Topic: The Game (Star Trek)

Star Trek Online : Interview with Daron Stinnett - Star Trek Online for PC at MMORPG.COM
Building two games at once is hardly a recipe for success, so we've put a lot of effort into figuring out how to unify the mechanics between the two environments, while maintaining the unique flavor of each.
Star Trek uniforms from the shows tend to be very subtle in their variation, which of course works when you're filming close enough to make the actors themselves the stars of the show.
Star Trek is a powerful license and it's not hard to imagine why it will make for a very exciting MMO.

Star Trek: Shattered Univers > Review
Star Trek: Shattered Universe takes place during the period of time after the first set of movies that starred the cast from the original series.
Star Trek Shattered Universe is, for the most part, a typical space combat game with a liberal dosing of the Star Trek license – that is what sets the game apart from its contemporaries.
Not the greatest, it is definitely a solid game that treats the Star Trek license with respect, and actually uses it.

Star Trek (script game) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Star Trek was a text-based mainframe computer game written by Don Daglow on a PDP-10 timesharing computer at Pomona College in 1972, and upgraded periodically through 1974, including contributions by Jonathan Osser.
The game was picked up by the Digital Equipment DECUS file sharing network in 1972 and distributed to many universities and other PDP-10 installations around the world, often appearing on the same systems alongside the Star Trek text game.
The two Star Trek games were each among the most popular mainframe computer games of the 1970s, which were played for free on college systems.

Players select a colored game piece, and are given a status console (plastic holder) with the icons of their ship (warp engines, shields, etc.).

This is good for fans of the original Star Trek as long as you keep in mind that its emphasis is trivia questions not space combat.

Star Trek (text game) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The original game is thought to have been created by Mike Mayfield in 1971, originally on a Sigma 7 minicomputer and then ported to the HP BASIC dialect for Hewlett-Packard minicomputers.
The game, in addition to being tied to the Star Trek subculture that was (and still is) very popular with computer experts and programmers, is in itself a piece of historical hacker lore.
The format of this game is often credited as being the progenitor of many 1980s outer space themed videogames, of which Atari's Star Raiders is most notable and was itself cloned extensively.
