This book is mostly a visual reference of the major costumes you see in the first 3 movies with some interesting discussion on what fabrics were chosen, and what various costume parts represented to the Star Wars culture and characters.
The only reason this book has not got 5 stars is because of the comparatively skimpy coverage of the costumes used in the later movies - though there are some interesting reminisces from the actors and designers from those movies next to rather small colour images.

I think this book had a lot of potential and could have even come off as at least a decent addition to the flourishing genre of Star Wars literature if only the author spent more time with character and plot development.
This book is between "Empire strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." The book is about Luke Skywalker being hunted down by Darth Vader (which we know is Anakin Skywalker) and during the time Luke is constructing a new lightsaber and also training to become a Jedi Master.
As your read this book you will continually be saying to yourself, "I remember that in the movie!" Perry does a great job of showing our Favorite Star Wars characters in a deeper light and developing them more.

There are many Star Wars books that you can find in bookstores or the library.
My favorite Star Wars books are a trilogy of novels by Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command).
If you want to know a lot of Star Wars trivia, I would reccomend either Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina, Tales From Jabba's Palace, Tales of the Bounty Hunters, or Tales from the Empire.

Each book takes place nearlly immediatlly after each other, so it is important to read them in the proper sequence.
