Star Wars computer and video games - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Star Wars has spawned over one hundred computer and video games, which comes of no surprise since the theatrical release of the original trilogy nearly coincided with the advent of home consoles.
In 2002, Attack of the Clones premiered in theaters and another wave of Star Wars based games, including The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, and Bounty Hunter were released this time focusing on events and characters from Attack of the Clones such as bounty hunter Jango Fett and the Clone Wars.
Three more games, Star Wars Galaxies: Episode III: Rage of the Wookiees (a second expansion to Galaxies), and Episode III: The video game (action) were also released close to the premiere of the third movie, with various degrees of success.

The term "computer game" also includes games which display only text (and which can therefore theoretically be played on a teletypewriter) or which use other methods, such as sound or vibration, as their primary feedback device, but there are very few new games in these categories.
The popularity of computer and video games, as a whole, has been increasing steadily ever since the 1984-1987 drop-off caused by the video game crash of 1983, and the popularity appears to be continuing to increase.
Computer and video games have been the subject of frequent controversy and censorship, due to the depiction of graphic violence, sexual themes, advertising, consumption of illegal drugs, consumption of alcohol or tobacco, propaganda, or profanity in some games.
