 Encyclopedia: Endor (Star Wars)
In the fictional universe of Star Wars, the forest moon of Endor is a moon which is home to the Ewoks and above which the second Death Star was constructed in Return of the Jedi.
The moon is also home to deadly giant Goraxes, tall and timid Yuzzums, rodentlike Teeks, vicious condor dragons and a settlement of offplanet reptilian marauders.
The planet Endor is never visible in the film, a fact which the novelisation explains by asserting that it was destroyed some time earlier and that the moon now orbits its star in a planetary orbit of its own.

Eric the Unread: Star Wars wisdom
Fooled by the neo-Jedi mythology, the Ewoks unwittingly contributed to their own destruction as the environmental consequences of the attack on the deep space research laboratory complex known as The Death Star II continue to mount.
Furthermore evidence has been released from secret files that in the Clone Wars Yoda (a suspected spiritual leader of the alliance and fundamentalist evangelical force missionary, currently on the run in the Dagobah system) was responsible for several atrocities - including an unprovoked attack on a sports stadium using government forces, without senate approval.
It is suspected Bothan spies were behind the faulty intelligence that led the alliance to believe the Death Star was a Weapon of Mass Destruction.

 STAR WARS: FAQ
In Star Wars Insider, it says that Lucas is currently on a writing sabbatical, and that while there is no script yet, he is making real progress on the story.
Answer: The Star Wars saga as originally conceived by Lucas was much too large to be made into a single film or even a single trilogy so Lucas structured his ideas into three trilogies.
Many Star Wars fans believed that Gonk was a God and that the whole movie was about him and the characters of Luke, Leia, and Han were just bit parts.

The fictional universe of Star Wars is a multilingual one, in which it is common to have either a passive or active understanding of many multiple languages from numerous alien races and cultures.
Many interspecies conversations in the Star Wars universe are bilingual, with the humans usually speaking Basic and the non-humans speaking their own or a regional language although many humans are generally familiar with non-human languages even if they do not speak it as goes the same for the non-humans.
In A New Hope, for instance, the language spoken by the character Greedo in conversation with Han Solo (in the cantina) is actually a simplified version of Quechua, an indigenous language of the Andean region of South America.

As a general tendency of human works, the deeper the technology, the worse may be the by-products of its uncontrolled failure: disasters of pre-nuclear technology produce poisons or fires; nuclear explosions leave abundant radioactivity; the detonation of a Death Star could be at least as dirty.
Whether or not the first Death Star was close enough for Yavin IV's surface to be affected, the rebel base surely had a sufficiently good deflector shield to locally repel any falling debris onto neighbouring areas of the moon's surface (so the base need not fear obliteration by a direct impact).
