	StarCraft: Brood War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		StarCraft: Brood War is an expansion pack released in 1998 for StarCraft — an award winning real-time strategy computer game developed by Blizzard Entertainment.
		The campaigns continue the story from where StarCraft left off: the Overmind has been destroyed with the sacrifice of Tassadar, the Protoss homeworld of Aiur has been left desolate and rampaged by the Zerg, and Kerrigan is left alone in her new Zerg form.
		The first of the new campaigns is the Protoss one, (or rather, the Dark Templar's), and mostly takes place on their homeworld of Shakuras.

		(brood war would favor me much more if it had a better UI, though - currently it's nearly impossible to spread a whole lot of corsair loving and then swoop in with scouts because placing more than 6 or so patches of haze takes so long that your first set is starting to fade.
		In Starcraft, I did get to the 7th Protoss mission, but couldn't beat it for the life of me. So I never did play a Brood War mission, since I didn't want to compromise the story.
		Starcraft: Brood War is one of my favourite games.

		Starcraft has a detailed background story, building on and in many ways excelling far beyond the original scope of the background of the Warcraft series.
		Brood War also tried to buff up the Ultralisk, a unit for which I rarely find much use because of its slow speed and the need for it to head-butt things to cause daamage; the new armour and speed upgrades for the ultralisk make it a more viable unit.
		Starcraft did not invent the real-time strategy genre, but outside of Total Annihilation, few of the second-generation RTS games have combined the ease of use and powerful play that Starcraft delivers.
