		The Starpath Supercharger was unveiled in 1982, and was a plug-in device which expanded the Random Access Memory (RAM) of the Atari VCS almost 50-fold, from 128 to 6,272 bytes.
		Starpath games were recorded on audio cassettes, achieving greater memory capacity and reduced cost of cassettes.
		Although Starpath was the only company to support its peripheral with software, its software lineup was completely devoid of duds, and was filled with playable titles with graphical flair.

		For those of you who don’t remember or weren’t around back in 1982, what the Starpath Supercharger may be a mystery to you.
		In addition to the many, many multimedia features present on the CD, all the original Starpath CD games are included, as well as a few unreleased prototypes.
		Through some kind of loophole in the copyright laws, Starpath was able to acquire the rights to this game.

		One thing I find amusing is that, in the old Starpath catalogs, they boasted about the great graphics of the Starpath games, since the Supercharger increased the 2600's RAM memory big time.
		However, on the flip side, the graphics of the Starpath version of Frogger were almost arcade-perfect, and the 3-D passages of Escape From the MindMaster were damn near mind-blowing for the 2600.
		You can also have up to four players on this game, so Starpath really made up for the lack of originality by giving it features to the max, plus with previews of two of their other games on the tape.

		Frogger was one of my favorite games when I was a youngster, so it's not surprising that I put a lot of time into the Parker Bros VCS version.
		I was amazed when I saw the Starpath version of the game years later.
		Strangely enough, I prefer the Starpath version to the arcade, as the color choices of the arcade can be rather jaring after a couple of levels.

		I seem to remember the "many faces" reviewer saying the Parker Brothers Frogger didn't have the 'second snake' (which I assume means the snake that wanders on the big floating log), but it does.

		The Starpath Supercharger is a very interesting add-on for the Atari 2600.
		Starpath succeeded, and while they were at it, they gave the Supercharger more storage space for game code than most of the Atari cartridge games had.
		Not only was there more room for game code, but all of the storage space could be used as RAM (Random Access Memory), unlike standard Atari cartridges which were limited to the 128 bytes of RAM.
