The Charlatans (British band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The band brought in maverick producer Flood for their poorly-received second album Between 10th And 11th (named after the address of the New York Marque, site of the groups first US gig) which failed to hit the top twenty in the UK.
After releasing the career-spanning compilation Melting Pot the band's contract with Beggars Banquet was up and they signed for Universal Records with Burgess stating that, although he and the band had enjoyed their time on the independent record label they had made next to no money in the eight years since their first release.
Relations with Beggars remained strong however and the band helped put together the DVD Just Lookin' 1990 - 1997 showcasing all their promo videos and a selection of live recordings from that era and b-sides collection Songs From The Other Side, both of which were released in 2002.

CD Baby: BRITISH INVASION ALL-STARS: British Invasion All-Stars
The British Invasion All-Stars are a 21st century band with a '60s sound, which isn't surprising because all of its members are veteran rockers who belonged to various '60s bands (some more prominent than others).
In rock circles, the term British Invasion is used to describe the wave of British rock bands that made its presence felt in the '60s.
The British Invasion All-Stars' self-titled debut album, which was released on the independent Mooreland Street label in 2002, shows no awareness of the alternative rock sounds of the early 2000s; the band is totally unaffected by any of the punk, new wave, post-punk, pop-metal, or alternative rock that came after the '60s.

This regrettably short-lived blues band was assembled by harpist/singer Cyril Davies (1932-1964) in 1963, following his exit from Blues Incorporated.
Davies' vocals, though hardly overly impressive, had a character to them that made the group's records competitive during the early blues boom of 1962-1963, and his harp playing was second to no one in England, a powerful, alternately mournful or exultant sound.
Nicky Hopkins subsequently emerged as a star session player in his own right, recording and performing with various bands (including the Rolling Stones) during the late '60s and '70s, and members of the All-Stars/Hoochie Coochie Men also turned up on Screaming Lord Sutch's recordings during this period, most notably his Heavy Friends album.
