Park was simply cruising along on a pace lap of the South Carolina 200 Busch race last Sept. 1 when his car suddenly veered sharply left into the path of Larry Foyt, who was moving up Park’s left to regain his position in line.
Park said he turned laps that were only a.10 of second off the track record for that division and had no problems with vertigo or depth perception.
Park now wears glasses that currently correct his up close vision to 20/17 and he admits that things far away are still “just a little foggy.” But after that clears, he expects to go racing again quickly.

On Friday the Park Service announced the formal opening of the process to develop an environmental impact statement on winter use of Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park and the John D. Rockefeller Jr.
Options include limiting how many snowmobiles may enter the parks; establishing requirements for guided park visits; allowing only mass-transit, such as snowcoaches; and not grooming some roads, so that bison's use of those with groomed snow may be studied.
The Park Service released its first study of Yellowstone snowmobiling in 1990, a document that called for further study when snowmobile visitation reached 143,000.
