		In the fictional universe of Star Trek, the Defiant class of starship is a variety of Starfleet vessel, the most well-known being the pathfinder USS Defiant featured in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
		The Defiant is assigned to space station Deep Space Nine in 2371 to help protect the Alpha Quadrant from the growing threat from the Dominion.
		The ship is severely damaged while fighting the Borg at the Battle of Sector 001 in 2373 and is destroyed in the 2375 invasion of the Chin'toka system during the Dominion War.

	Defiant Class Starship
		The Defiant class starship is one of the most unusual designs in Starfleet, conforming to none of the standard Federation design elements (well, I guess there are red bussard collectors and blue warp engines.) It was designed specifically for combat with the Borg, and as a result, is packed with engine and firepower.
		The picture on the right shows a photograph of the U.S.S. Defiant model, which was digitally altered to show the damage inflicted by the Borg in First Contact.
		There are only three pages now, but since the Defiant appears regularly on DS9, I'll be adding lots of pictures, so you can expect these galleries to get very large.
