Kansas State Highway 66 is a 13 mile (21 kilometre) long highway that slices off the southeastern corner of the state.

It is mostly sedimentary rocks, with east Texas underlain by a Cretaceous and younger sequence of sediments, the trace of ancient shorelines east and south until the active continental margin of the Gulf of Mexico is met.
Texas does not have townships; areas within a county are either "incorporated" (i.e., part of a city, though the city may contract with the county for needed services) or "unincorporated" (i.e., not part of a city, in these areas the county has authority for law enforcement and road maintenance).

By contrast, in the western part of the state, US 60 is not paired with an interstate highway and serves a much more independent purpose, connecting communities located along the Ohio River.

Military Highway contends they did not, arguing that Morin and Bautista's deviation from the highway after striking the horse was not foreseeably in the ordinary course of travel.

It is illegal in Texas to drive with a BAC that is 0.08 or higher.
Beginning on Sept. 1, 2001, Texas got tougher on those who refuse to submit to a breathalyzer test —a person with no previous drug or alcohol-related convictions will have their driver’s license suspended for 180 days if they refuse to submit to a breathalyzer test.
If you are pulled over and you do not have a Texas driver's license, you will be prohibited from being issued a license for the amount of time equivalent to the suspension period.

Several telegrams stated, "An impartial federal investigation would reveal greater corruption than Teapot Dome."(2) A wire from Assistant United States Attorney John Marshall, in answer to the 2,000 telegrams sent to the President, advised the Hidalgo County citizens that their appeal should be sent to the United States District Attorney, H. Holden, at Houston.
Kimbrough pointed out that the trend of Texas court decisions had been that, in the absence of fraud, resulting from leaving an envelope unsealed, through an oversight of the election judge, the voters of the district could not be deprived of their votes.

History: Copper Breaks State Park consists of 1898.8 acres, 12 miles south of Quanah or 9 miles north of Crowell, in Hardeman County.
A portion of the official Texas longhorn herd is maintained at the park.
On State Highway 6, between Quanah and the park, one can observe prominent hills to the east that make up Medicine Mound, a ceremonial and religious site of the Comanche.

Following complaints from Kentucky and other States in the East that "60" should have been assigned to a transcontinental route through their States, the number "60" became the subject of the most protracted and bitter controversy involving the numbering plan.
In 1985, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO, as AASHO is now called), eliminated the number "66," at the request of the States involved, after the highway had been replaced by Interstate highways.
The New Mexico State Highway and Transportation Department joined with Colorado and Utah transportation officials in submitting a recommendation to eliminate the last remaining segments of U.S. 666 and establish a new route, U.S. 393, in its place.
