		Steamband is a critically acclaimed variant in the Angband series of ASCII based, so-called Roguelike computer games.
		These are all dungeon crawlA dungeon crawl is a type of role playing adventure in which the characters fight their way through an extensive dungeon (or other labyrinthine environment, such as a castle or cave), killing the monsters that live there and looting any treasure they find.
		Steamband is in pretty good shape, and now is a time to check it out.

	Steamband - Engineer restricted from Detective's kit
		I started my first Steamband character - a British Engineer, given that british Scientist was not an option ;).
		Am I missing something, or is this an inherent limitation (of the class?) [Fun, and very different from any other *band, but seems a little odd no t to have found any decent items in the first 15 dungeon levels, given the attenuated depth.]
		The uniques I've met thus far have not dropped anything useful, even the couple who are noted as 'may carry an exceptional object'.

		So I’ve been in a kind of Roguelike state of mind recently.
		In the realm of the existent, I recently found Steamband, a Steampunk version of the venerable Angband Roguelike.
		So in all truth the whole Steamband thing for me is just a bit too alien to really immerse myself in (who among us can imagine coding in vi and emacs interchangeably?), but will nevertheless I hope provide an entertaining diversion until the true love of my life makes itself available again.
