In Stearns County, Minnesota the Stearns History Museum conducted an oral history of the indigenous elderly reminiscing about late 19th Century rural life, including their parish life.
Kathleen Conzens, expert of rural German Catholics, has used this for her forthcoming book and will interview with us.

 Paynesville Historical Society - First post office in Paynesville opened in 1857
In the fall of 1904, according to the Stearns County History Book, "Paynesville was attached to New Paynesville, making a village now having a population of probably 1200 people." An official establishment of the Paynesville post office was finally made on Jan. 27, 1905, with A. Elliot as the postmaster.
