Stefan Bengt Edberg (born January 19, 1966 in Västervik, Sweden) is a former World No. 1 professional tennis player (in both singles and doubles play) from Sweden.
Edberg is well known as one of the best serve and volley players of all time, for his superb volleying skills, and as a gentleman and ambassador for the sport.
Edberg was also a member of the Swedish teams which won the World Team Cup in 1988, 1991 and 1995.

At another point, while waiting for the next session to begin, Edberg could be seen demonstrating his ball control prowess by bouncing a tennis ball on alternate sides of his racket, and then on the edge of the frame of the racquet.
Stefan was dressed in all white, with matching blue Adidas logos on his neatly- tucked shirt and his tailored shorts.
Perhaps that's why, throughout the two-day event, Stefan Edberg was besieged by a steady stream of people, young and old, male or female, who sought his autograph, or to have pictures taken with him.

 Stefan Edberg's Greatest Matches

Stefan wore his hairs long then, and was not as lean as in later years.
Edberg's emotional response to the ebb and flow of the match was seldom evident: except for his shuffling hop of pleasure whenever he had done something clever.
