The prosecuting authorities reported Tuesday that they are preparing an indictment against Sofia mayor Stefan Sofiyanski in connection with a deal for the construction of an office building opposite the National Palace of Culture (NDK).
Sofiyanski is already being investigated for the sale of a downtown mall to Israel's Ahstrom, and has been temporarily suspended from office.
Approached for comment, Sofiyanski said he knew about the new investigation, adding that so far no charges had been pressed against him, neither had he been summoned for questioning.
