  Michael Spinks
In 1986, Spinks and Holmes went to an inmediate rematch, and had the same result, Spinks winning by a 15 round split decision.
After that, he retained the world Heavyweight championship once again, by a knockout in four against Stefan Tangstad.
In 1987 he was stripped of the crown by the IBF for refusing to fight their number 1 challenger, Tony Tucker, and accepting a higher offer to fight Gerry Cooney in a non title bout instead.

So far guys such as Isam Khalil, Geir Inge Jørgensen, Thomas Hansvoll and Reidar Walstad have not exactly cried over the fact that Steffen Tangstad will no longer be in their lives, so maybe they are actually happy about the turn of events.
Tangstad, when criticised for matching Jørgensen poorly, said it's better to be safe than sorry.
I don't think anyone is too sorry for Tangstad, but lets hope we won't see him as a stand up comedian introducing go-go girls...

What Did Jones Really Accomplish? | TheSweetScience.com Boxing
Let's keep this in perspective, this wasn't Archie Moore challenging Rocky Marciano, or Bob Foster taking on the likes of Ali or Joe Frazier or even Michael Spinks facing Larry Holmes.
This in fact, is closer to Spinks' blowout of Stefan Tangstad, than anything else.
Yes, it was impressive that Jones would move up and take on a much bigger man- but don't forget this key element- he also took on someone much worse.

Did Buster Douglas Really Beat Mike Tyson?? - Page 23 - Boxing Scene Forums   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
The 1990 Buster Douglas was a joke who couldn't even beat David Bey KO'd, Stefan Tangstad, Mike White KO'd, Jesse Ferguson, and Tony Tucker KO'd before handing Mike Tyson his ass on a fuckin' silver platter with a side order of shit kicking.
Oh and let's not forget the fact that Douglas suffered a 3rd round 1 punch KO at the hands of the relatively average hitting Holyfield in his next fight.
Well then that was the version that would have faced in Foreman in 1991.

At the time, the division was good enough that a post-prime or end Ali didn't seriously challenge again.
Back in the card game era, I had Stefan Tangstad take out George Foreman.
He did it to me again in a TBCB universe when he derailed Quarry's career - although that was hardly as big an upset.
