The university required the athletics department, in conjunction with the office of student financial planning, to prepare and implement a comprehensive policy and procedure on the awarding and monitoring of summer financial aid for all student-athletes at the university.
The university conducted an annual audit (by an entity outside of the athletics department and the office of student financial planning) of summer financial aid awards for all student-athletes to confirm adherence to NCAA Bylaws 15 (Financial Aid) and 16 (Awards and Benefits).

The Secretary General, Peter Bridgewater, served as one of the three judges in the Stetson University College of Law's Ninth Annual International Environmental Moot Court Competition, Saturday, 29-30 October 2004, in the state of Florida, USA.
Stetson College of Law Vice Dean Royal C. Gardner and Dean Darby Dickerson created this competition in 1996 to increase awareness about international environmental challenges.
Semi-finalist teams included Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, defeated in the finals, and West Bengal National University of Juridical Science (India) and Queensland University of Technology School of Law (Australia).
