Steve Augeri is proudly a Brooklyn Boy, born (January 30, 1959) and raised in an Italian-American neighborhood in Brooklyn where he still lives with his wife, Lydia, and son, Adam.
Although Steve was still friendly with the members of Tall Stories and still loved their music and musical ideas, Tall Stories had been getting such negative responses from their record company and management that Steve decided it was time to move on.
Steve and the band are currently working on new material that will be released as an EP for their Summer 2002 tour with a full-length CD to follow near the end of the year.

  Steve Augeri Information
Steve Augeri (born January 30, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American rock singer.
Augeri and Perry have similar vocal styles, and are sometimes confused for that (plus their similar physique and same first name.) Augeri's debut with the band was on the single, "Remember Me," from the Armageddon movie soundtrack.
Augeri was digonosed as suffering from a throat infection and was advised to rest his vocal chords while recovering; there is no indication that the separation is permanent (Augeri's doctor is monitoring his condition and will advise him when he may rejoin the tour).

Steve's career with Journey was only just beginning though, and the band embarked on relentless touring in addition to producing a new album each year in 1979, 1980 and 1981.
Steve recalls, "It was a very difficult year for the band alone, not to mention that the lead singer of the band was going through an awful lot of emotional bleeding and I'm just glad now that Mom's not being hurt, tortured or humiliated anymore, so that's great.
Steve stayed in contact with the Journey Force fan club, though, and it is clear that he did begin working on new music after a while, in addition to joining Jon and Neal onstage in 1991 at the Bill Graham tribute concert in San Francisco, performing "Lights" and "Faithfully" for the assembled crowd.
