These first seven tracks represent by far the best music avaliable on the three Shide & Acorn CD's in the Kissing Spell series The seven remaining tracks only feature Steve and Joy.
Again, poor sleeve notes, but they are right when they refer to the vitality in the first seven tracks.

Broadband Wireless Internet Access / WiMAX
I'm not sure if I'm the first (besides Hylton Jolliffe, Corante's chief "herder-of-cats") to publicly welcome Mark Cabiling's Mobile Mesh Networking Blog to Corante, but I'm probably one of the more enthusiastic in doing so.
While WiMAX is unquestionably important and growing, for the forseeable future it will remain only a part of a much larger and much more diverse BWIA industry than "just WiMAX." Steve has covered the BWIA industry, including the rise of WiMAX, since 1997.
As I mentioned a few postings back, Mark is writing good stuff about Wireless Mesh Networking (despite the title, Mark doesn't confine himself stricly to mobile) and Mesh is a branch of wireless that's 1) not well understood and below the RADAR of many/most analysts and press, and 2) growing quickly in functionality and deployments.

Back to Balibo by Jill Jolliffe New Zealand Listener
The Balibo ceremony was made possible by East Timor's liberation from Indonesian rule in 1999, and by the determination of Steve Bracks, Labor Premier of Victoria, to amend the historical injustice suffered by the five families, three of whom live in Melbourne, including the Cunninghams.
The pilgrimage of the Cunningham family to the small town of Balibo on East Timor's border with Indonesia was a long and painful one, taking 28 years.
They were not permitted to travel to a Jakarta funeral organised and attended by a handful of diplomats weeks later, and are uncertain whether the remains buried there are those of their loved ones.

 TD Sampler
Froese and Franke tried something new and hired Steve Jolliffe, flutist and singer, and recorded Cyclone, reputed as the worst TD album though I don't agree.
For the next years, it was Froese's affection to play mostly mellotron - a keyboard which isn't actually electronic but plays tapes with pre-recorded sounds (flutes, strings, choirs), whereas Franke specialized very much on purely electronic sound generation, and sequencers - a device, today completely digital - capable of storing notes and calling them automatically.
Edgar and Jerome did this just for fun and - meanwhile publishing under their own label - spontaneously released it as The Dream Mixes.
