		Steve Lewis (1896 - c 1941?) was a jazz pianist and composer.
		Lewis was born in New Orleans on March 19, 1896.
		Lewis started showing signs of mental illness, left Piron's band in 1938, was committed to an insane asylum in 1940, and was said to have died there soon after.

		Steven Earl ("Steve") Lewis (born May 16, 1969) is a former American track and field athlete, winner of three gold medals at the 1988 Summer Olympics and 1992 Summer Olympics.
		Born in Los Angeles, California, Steve Lewis had a spectacular year in 1988, when the precocious 19 year-old not only completely rewrote the world junior all-time list in the 400 m, but also proved his mettle in senior competition, by winning the Olympic gold medal.
		Steve won a second gold medal three days later, as a member of the victorious USA 4x400 m relay team which equalled the world record of 2:56.16.

		In his 2005 Massey Lectures, Lewis relates that he was in danger of flunking out of university at the beginning of the 1960s, and so left his studies and took up a clerical position with the Socialist International, where he received an invitation to a conference in Ghana.
		Lewis felt that the Waffle was threatening the credibility and stability of the party and led a purge against the group in June 1972 on the basis that it was a party within a party.
		Lewis led a strong campaign during the 1975 election with his oratory and passion bringing new supporters to the party.
