Steve, however, would have the last laugh in this feud; he beat Jarrett for the WCW U.S. Title at (what turned out to be) the final Clash of the Champions in August 1997.

As far as the tradition of having somebody sing it live at Wrigley, I believe Harry Carey was the one who originated it when he was hired by the Cubs in the early 1980's.
McMichael was ejected from the park right after that.At the top of the inning,the Cubs were on the wrong end of a controversial play at the plate,and when it was Mongo's turn to sing,he told the crowd that he would "have some words with the ump"
The ump glared into the booth and had McMichael ejected from the park after he was done singing.I believe McMichael had one too many that night.
