Steve Purcell is best known as the creator of comic book characters Sam and Max, of the Freelance Police - a dog and rabbit crime-fighting duo.
Steve contributed a lot of the background work and animation for LucasArts adventure games in the early 1990s.
In the late 90s, Steve's Sam and Max had its own Fox Kids animated TV series, which ran for one season.

Based on Sam and Max: Freelance Police comic book characters created by Steve Purcell, it follows the detective duo (Sam; a 6 foot anthropomorphic dog, and Max; a 3 foot "hyperkinetic rabbity thing") across a kitsch, tourist trap pastiche of America (featuring The World's Largest Ball of Twine) in search of an escaped sasquatch.
It was written and designed by Steve Purcell along with Sean Clark, Collette Michaud and Michael Stemmle and commonly applauded for its substantial amount of humour.
In September 2005, four months after LucasArts' license expired, Steve Purcell announced that he would be working with Telltale Games on a new and unrelated Sam and Max project.

Steve now has a great career working over at Pixar, known for making a few little indy gems like The Incredibles and Finding Nemo.

Here is what you can do: tell Steve P. to give us Sam and Max and we, at bad brain promise you the best and boldest Sam and Max 3D PointandClick-Adventure ever.
So starting over with a maybe similar idea and updated technology, headed by Steve P. as the director behind the whole thing may not be such a bad (brain) idea at all.
