Not only does Stevens perform beautiful, flowing roots music like in the song “Cinecita", but also found on Flamenco.a.go.go is a show of Steve’s amazing talent with rapid picking and (for all you guitar buffs) breathtaking left-hand ability.
Stevens has said that flamenco music, being so rich in rhythm, seems to fit naturally with digital music and “electronics and ambient sounds and things." The first track on the album is a prime example of this combination.
As a performer, studio musician, and as an artist, Steve Stevens would certainly rank very highly in the expanding world of music.

Steve Stevens - Biography - AOL Music
It was also during the early '80s that Stevens hooked up with ex-Generation X singer Billy Idol, who had relocated to New York in hopes of launching a solo career.
It took an extended period for Idol and Stevens to offer a third album, 1986's Whiplash Smile, and although it was another big hit, Stevens longed to launch his own solo career, and exited Idol's band by the end of the decade.
Stevens finally got his chance to show off his lifelong appreciation of prog rock when he united with bassist Tony Levin and drummer Terry Bozzio in the bombastic outfit Bozzio Levin Stevens, issuing a pair of releases thus far -- 1997's Black Light Syndrome and 2000's Situation Dangerous.

DVD-Audio Review: Steve Stevens - ‘Flamenco a Go Go’
Steve Stevens’Flamenco A Go-Go’ is one of the few exceptions; it hails from the DTS Entertainment stable and was recorded/produced in 2001.
Although his first experiences of the guitar were of a flamenco ilk, Stevens developed the unique style of this album largely in isolation by experimenting in his own home studio — laying down accompaniment tracks and playing along — having been inspired by a concert given by flamenco virtuoso Paco Delucia.
Stevens is a tall figure dressed all in fl with painted nails and pierced lip, a cross between Phil Lynott (without the moustache) and Ronnie Wood, and yet there he is, conjuring the most wonderful sounds out of an acoustic guitar.

Steve is a pretty hot-damn guitarist, his chops n' licks often beyond scorching, or, at the very worst, a none-too-modest display of virtuostic showboating.
Sure, Steve spent the last two years recording Flamenco A-Go-Go virtually unaided, and sure, Howard Jones co-wrote and played piano on "Letter to a Memory" (read: no one cares), but he probably should've stuck to what he does best: rockin' out.
Then again, you can only extend the sonic possibilities of the electric guitar so far without sinking into Japanoise excess, so maybe that was his line of thinking.
