Steve Miller was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 5, 1943.
Steve took what tapes that had been recorded to Nashville, where in between dates on the road with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead, he completed the album with harmonica player Charlie McCoy, fiddler Buddy Spicher, guitarist Wayne Moss and drummer Tim Davis.
Steve did hit the road in 1988, and continued for 12 consecutive tours of Amphitheaters across the USA until deciding to take a sabbatical after the 2000 "Into The Future" tour.

Took and Bolan released three albums together and built a small cult following which included BBC DJ John Peel who helped them secure a record deal in the first place.
Took, who was called the Pete Best of the '70s by insensitive journalists, watched helplessly as T Rex and his old partner Marc Bolan went on to become stars in the U.K. He died in 1980 after choking on a cocktail cherry.

Steve's career with Journey was only just beginning though, and the band embarked on relentless touring in addition to producing a new album each year in 1979, 1980 and 1981.
Steve recalls, "It was a very difficult year for the band alone, not to mention that the lead singer of the band was going through an awful lot of emotional bleeding and I'm just glad now that Mom's not being hurt, tortured or humiliated anymore, so that's great.
Steve stayed in contact with the Journey Force fan club, though, and it is clear that he did begin working on new music after a while, in addition to joining Jon and Neal onstage in 1991 at the Bill Graham tribute concert in San Francisco, performing "Lights" and "Faithfully" for the assembled crowd.

Steve Took's Horns was not just another of Steve Took's many projects in his gloriously ill-fated (and too often overlooked) solo career, it was also the first band together of Trevor Thoms and Ermano Ghisio- Erba, or as ICU fans would know them, Judge Trev and Dino Ferari.
For Steve himself, it was a depressing enough experience for him to pull the plug on the band shortly after they came offstage.
This approach was not entirely unsuccessful as Took bagged himself guest slots performing his material at ICU's early shows at "Meanwhile Gardens," over by the Westway in Notting Hill Gate an old musical haunt for Took and indeed many hippy and later punk acts throughout the 70's and well into the 80s.
