Stewart and Stevenson Services has sued Lloyd's of London over its refusal to pay the judgment in a lawsuit Stewart and Stevenson lost to Serv-Tech in July.
Stewart and Stevenson paid the judgment in September and took an after-tax charge of $13 million, or 39 cents a share, in its fiscal second quarter.
No one from Stewart and Stevenson or Lloyd's of London was available to comment on the lawsuit, which was filed in state court in Houston late last month and moved to U.S. District Court in Houston last week.
