Nine Inch nails are not cool, Gee what year was it 1992.
Chances are after listening to "the hand that feeds", the project of removing chords from the album not only seems atrocious, but it takes the bite that was supposed to be the vocation of teeth.
The best part of this song, and maybe the album, is that I can understand all that he is saying, and the feeling in his voice clash with the music pretty accurately.

If you only own one Nine Inch Nails CD, make it this one, it is the pinnacle of their their musical revolution thus far.
The only live albums or DVDs I'll listen to or watch (DVD) are those of Slipknot (they sound the same live as they do in the studio) and Nine Inch Nails.

This one is a lot harder to enjoy, and though I still respect and admire his hard-hitting vision, ultimately I prefer all of his other albums thus far (2005) to this one.
Opinion was greatly divided as to this album’s merits (for example, www.pitchforkmedia.com gave the album a 2 out of 10, while SPIN magazine voted it their #1 album of the year), and it proved to be a considerable disappointment commercially.
Although there are still plenty of electronics this is a more guitar driven rock album than previous works (with much of the heroics being supplied by the amazing Adrian Belew), as Reznor’s music continues to get more atmospheric and less danceable.

Many people comment on nails as being suicide music, and without any fear of reducing their opinions to drivle i will simply say that they can only be denying something that dwells deep within us all.
This album will suck you in and emrace you with its iron grip, you'll experience crushing riffs, turbulent synthesized beats and a wealth of percussion effects, with of course the prolific sound of trents agonisingly raw vocal talent to transcend the lot into another dimention of expression through music.
The best track on the album, I think, by far is the amazing "We're In This Together" which, rises from a quiet, fuzzed beat into the most powerful song the world has known, with driving guitar chords and a powerful beat into a subdued piano outro.

NIN are back and what a fine album this is. The songs The Hand that Feeds, Everyday is exactly the Same, and All the Love in the World really do it for me. These tunes get you out of your chair and remind me of Skinny Puppy, Dada Pogrom and perhaps, Marilyn Manson.
It isn't the crowning achievement of the album, but it's a competent work that you're bound to listen to whenever you pop the disc in.
As it stands, it's a good album that suffers from a bad beat too many and is too short to redeem it.

It is not until after the messy climax of "The Great Destroyer" that the album takes a slower pace and moves into more ambient sound (at least as ambient as this style of industrial techno can get) to end the album.

A broad concept album, which Reznor has succeeded with in the past (most notably The Downward Spiral, read Any Given Tuesday's review here) Year Zero is bound to be wildly successful without jeopardizing Trent's musical integrity.
