 Stirling Albion - 22/8/98
Albion, who were relegated from the First Division last season lined up with former Motherwell players Brian Martin and John Philliben in the centre of their defence and a trialist up front (now that’s a novel idea to get over the problem of key players being out - Dave Baikie should note this).
Luckily for us the Albion forwards did not take advantage of the opportunities presented to them and some fine saves from Hinchie stopped us going in 3 nil down at half time.
Burns then replaced Florence and the Albion trialist completed the scoring in 82 minutes.
