Outside of the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg metropolitan areas, Pennsylvania is a relatively poorer state, especially in the northern areas and the Appalachian Mountains; only 22% of Pennsylvania places have per capita incomes higher than the national per capita income, and 11.0% of the population lives below the poverty line.
There are sixty-seven counties located in Pennsylvania, three of which are in the 100 richest counties in the country.

I found a second mention of Jonas Stocker in ‘’Place Names of Northampton County, Pennsylvania.'’ Under the listing for Churchville, a small settlement in northwest Forks Township, south of Stockertown, a church is mentioned.
Stockertown was not officially incorporated as a borough until 1900.
