The one problem of Johnstown's location was that it was built on the floodplain at the confluence of the Little Conemaugh and Stoneycreek Rivers.

The Rolling Mill Mine was a drift portal coal mine in operation in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, from approximately 1856 until 1931.

Wednesday evening, the driver of a pickup traveling along Osborne Street in Johnstown tried to avoid an oncoming car, when the truck drove through a parking lot, then nose-dived over a 45-foot river wall and ended up on it's roof in the Stoneycreek River.
Several people, including a New Jersey fireman jumped into the river to pull the occupants from the truck.
The two men had been in the water for several minutes when rescue crews arrived, but because the drop-off is so steep, it took crews nearly 45 minutes to hoist the victims out of the river using a ladder truck.

any open water at stoneycreek yet would like to try for eyes and pike should be good this time of year.
The last time I was there was on Sun.(5th)and there was good amount of open water.
I like the area between southdam and boat launch,north dam can be pretty bizzy with hords of people catching each others lines, and the persons who go out and put 2 or three poles out while there children are running all around or casting over everyones lines.
