Photography - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Photography can be classified under imaging technology and has gained the interest of scientists and artists from its inception.
Photography is used to preserve memories of favourites and as a source of entertainment.
If photography is authentically art, then photography in the context of art would need redefinition, such as determining what component of a photograph makes it beautiful to the viewer.

 Action Photography Tips
Another way to get a sharp image of an action subject at a slow shutter speed (especially handy in dim lighting conditions) is to shoot at the peak of the action—that point where a rising subject momentarily stops before starting back down.
Action work is rarely done in a studio, so you need some means of carting your gear into the field.
For serious action shooting, you probably have a lot of gear—a camera body, several lenses, a flash unit, lots of film, etc. So it's nice to have a convenient means of carrying it, and keeping it all together as you shoot.

He revolutionized sports action photography in the late 1930s, night photography in the 1940s and high-speed photography in the 1960s.
However their innovations changed the world and reality as we know it today, producing one of those pivot points where the creativity of the artist and the scientist are one and the same.
Their permutations of space and time, the illumination of the previously unseen, the stopping of action, were studies aimed to dissect motion in the purest sense, long before the manipulators spun these important tools into instruments of greed.

 Shutterbug: Action Photography
A good camera position is one that gives you a clear view of the action, keeps you out of harm's way, provides a pleasant backdrop for the photos, and works with the lighting at the scene.
At races, there is generally more action at the corners, where the cars bunch up as they slow down.
While you generally want to avoid harsh direct sunlight for portraits, it can make for colorful action shots—and is bright enough that you can stop action with the slower, finer-grained films, and benefit from their generally richer colors.

With time, it became apparent that Muybridge's "stop-action series photography," as it was called, acted as the precursor to the moving camera.
Due to the deftness of Muybridge's photography, in 1872 his financially supportive well-to-do friend, Leland Stanford, the Governor of California, commissioned him to settle the galloping horse debate.
Stop-action photography led to Muybridge's work on a series of photographs of myriad animals in motion and humans, nude and clothed, doing everything from walking to running to laying bricks to vault jumping.

This film technique (also known as stop-action photography) involves the slight manipulation of inanimate objects or models between successive photographs of a scene proceeding frame by frame.
