Storey County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nevada.
Storey County was created in 1861 and named for Captain Edward Fariss Storey, who was killed in 1860 in the Pyramid Lake Indian War.
In the county, the population was spread out with 19.70% under the age of 18, 4.70% from 18 to 24, 26.80% from 25 to 44, 35.70% from 45 to 64, and 13.10% who were 65 years of age or older.

Virginia City is not only one of the oldest established cities in Nevada, it is also one of the oldest west of the Mississippi.
