The Stormers were dealt a cruel blow early in the new year, when it was revealed that star loose forward Hendrik Gerber will miss virtually the entire 2005 Super 12 season.
While the good news is that the International Rugby Board (IRB's) Player of the Year for 2004, Schalk Burger, and South African Under-21 captain, Luke Watson, are both fighting fit, it could leave the Stormers with very little depth to fall back on in the case of further injuries.
The Stormers team then takes on the Gwent Dragons in Dubai on February 4, and the Wasps in London, UK, on Sunday February 13, before returning to Cape Town to complete their preparations.

The Western Province Rugby Union (WPRU) have finally taken some decisive action against Collegians Rugby Club, one of the biggest culprits in the recent upsurge of violence in club rugby in the Western Cape region.
This follows about two weeks after the same club's Under-20 team was also banned for the rest of the season, after they were involved in some ugly violence in a game against Cape Town Harlequins.
The Club was also fined R10 000, which is payable to the WPRU before 15 October 2006.
