SAMUEL STORRS, the emigrant, was son of Samuel Storrs, and came from Sutton, Nottingham County, England; he was twice married, 1, at Barnstable, Mass., December 6, 1666, to Mary Huckins, daughter of Thomas Huckins; she was born March 29, 1646, and died September 24, 1683; 2, to Esther Egard, December 14, 1685.
SAMUEL STORRS, of Mansfield, was married to Martha(???).
JOHN STORRS, of Mansfield, was married to Esther Gurley, daughter of Samuel Gurley, of Mansfield, January 2, 1735.

 Olson, Storrs - Biography
Although Storrs was originally interested in fishes and made a diverse collection of the ichthyofauna of the Florida panhandle, at age 12 his direction was changed permanently by local ornithologist Henry M. Stevenson's invitation to participate in a Christmas bird count, in the course of which Stevenson found and collected an out-of-season prairie warbler.
Storrs first visited Wetmore and the NMNH in 1967, and the contacts developed then led to a summer job in 1968 under Richard Banks, in what was then the Fish and Wildlife Service, inventorying the skeleton collection in the Division of Birds.
Storrs completed his dissertation on the evolution of the rails of the South Atlantic islands and was awarded his ScD from Johns Hopkins in 1972.

Storrs graduated in 1905 and his parents sent him on a promised trip to Europe where he traveled to England, Germany, Holland and Belgium.
Storrs returned to France and remained there during World War I, where he worked in a hospital tending to the wounded.
In the late 1920's Storrs received a commission for a statue of Ceres to be placed atop the Chicago Board of Trade.
