Tendonitis occurs when you use a set of muscles too much causing straining of the tendons (soft tissue) that connect those muscles to your bones.
If this tendon is strained, your foot may hurt when it moves forward to push off the ground.
If this tendon is strained, you may feel pain when you go down stairs or walk or run on hills.

Ultrasonography of the Achilles tendon with linear probes produces a dynamic and panoramic image of the tendon The Achilles tendon is composed of longitudinally arranged collagen bundles, which reflect the ultrasound beam.
Tendon fascicles appear as alternate hypoechogenic and hyperechogenic bands that are separated when the tendon is relaxed and are more compact when the tendon is strained.
Ultrasonography also can be used to study the elastic properties of the tendon; this is done by measuring the distance between an intratendinous hypoechogenic or hyperechogenic point and the calcaneus and by assessing how this distance changes with different forces exerted by the gastrocnemius-soleus complex.

The Achilles tendon is a particularly large tendon connecting the heel to the muscles of the calf.
For example, patellar tendonitis (jumper's knee) is an inflammation of the patellar tendon, which connects the tibia to the patella.
The Achilles' tendon or heel (''tendo Achillis'') or the calcaneal tendon (''tendo calcaneus'') is a tendon of the posterior leg.

One of the most frequently affected tendons is the posterior tibial tendon, a structure that is normally hard at work, helping to hold the arch up and prevent over?pronation or rolling in of the foot.
As we age, the tendon is subject to degeneration within the substance of the tendon.
Usually, another tendon in the foot, such as the tendon that flexes the four lesser toes (bends them down) is used as a tendon graft to replace the function of the posterior tibial tendon.

Tendons connect muscle to bone, and allow the muscle and bone to work together for a maximum range of motion.
When the tendon is strained or torn, that range of motion is lessened severely because the body tries to repair the injury by producing scar tissue.
Tendon injuries can also occur from daily life activities, whether it be putting on the pool cover or carrying a load of groceries.

A very thin walled large bursa is interposed between the tendon of the obturator internus and the ramus of the ischium and a smaller bursa is present between this tendon and the bone in the trochanter fossa.
Calcification of the adjacent tendon can occur spontaneously, and the calcification can precede the inflammatory changes in the bursa.(1) Treatment is the same as for a sprained tendon or ligament: rest; possibly a light, padded bandage; cold applications in early stages to limit exudation and heat in later stages to promote absorption of exudates.
In the hindleg, the tibialis cranialis, the peroneus longus, and the peroneus brevis have sheaths surrounding the tendons of insertion.

This tendon is a large, strong fibrous cord that connects the muscles in the back of your lower leg to your heel bone.
When the fascia is strained, it usually becomes painful where the fascia is attached to the heel bone, and the front of the heel bone feels tender when you press it.
The hamstring muscles or their tendons may tear as a result of an over-stretch injury, for instance if you have to sprint suddenly when you are cold, or when your muscles are tightened because of a previous strain, or fatigue from training hard the previous day.

A tendon is a bundle of elastic fibres, made up mainly of collagen, which attaches a muscle to a bone.
A ‘bow’ in the tendon describes the shape or the profile seen when the tendonitis of the superficial digital flexor tendon, is very severe or chronic.
Surgical treatment: Options include tendon transplantation, carbon fibre implantation and fragment injection, tendon splitting and superior check ligament desmotomy, all of which involve a lengthy period of rest, a fair amount of cost, a graded exercise program and its questionable whether success is due to the surgery or all the other things you do.

Tendinitis is an inflammation of a tendon (a band of fibrous tissue connecting muscle to bone) that causes pain, tenderness, and occasionally, restricted movement of the muscle attached to the affected tendon.
Posterior tibial tendon(the tendon that runs along the inside of the ankle and foot): If this tendon is strained, the foot may hurt when it moves forward to push off the ground or when the heel shifts from side to side.
Peroneal tendons (the Peroneus Brevis, which attaches the base of the fifth metatarsal and everts the foot and keeps the ankle from rolling in, is more commonly involved): If this tendon is strained, you may feel pain when you stand or push off the ground.
