 Strangford
Strangford's population in the 2001 census was 98,158 (8th of the 18 constituencies).
Strangford had lost 9.95% of its electorate in the great electoral register shake-out, varying from 4.83% in the Scrabo ward of Ards to 7.56% in the Killyleagh ward of Down and also in Bradshaw's Brae ward in Ards.
Extrapolating from the local government elections is very difficult because the Strangford constituency breaches no less than four local electoral area boundaries, and in addition there was no voting in one small part of the constituency.

North Down (UK Parliament constituency) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The seat was re-created in 1950 when the old Down two MP constituency was abolished as part of the final move to single member seats.
As a result, in 1983 the seat was radically cut down as part of an expansion of Northern Ireland's constituencies from 12 to 17, although the name remained unaltered.
In part because of this the seat was the heartland of the Equal Citizenship campaign in the late 1980s which argued that political parties in Britain should organise and contest elections in Northern Ireland, in the hope that this would "normalise" the politics of the province.

On 2§ November 2003, for the first time since 1975, a regional level election was held on the same boundaries and with the same seat distribution as its predecessor.
Of the 90 members elected from constituency lists to the Forum, almost a quarter (8 UUP, 7 DUP, 5 SF, one each from Alliance and SDLP) did not seek election in 1998, and another 15 (8 UUP, 3 each from DUP and SDLP, and one Alliance) were rejected by the voters.
In the end the political compromise was that all eighteen constituencies would elect not five but six members of the new body by Single Transferable Vote.

It's been suggested to Slugger that Strangford could conceiveably be the scene of an electoral upset in this year's Westminster election.
The basis for UUP optimism seems to be placed on the energy and youthfulness of their candidate, Gareth McGimpsey, and (possibly) an underestimation of their opponent, Iris Robinson.
Furthermore I don't have to be living in Strangford to note that with the number of jobs that woman has taken on she is unlikely to be a particularly effective MP, thats called a dose of realism, something that is missing from most duppers.

PR for Westminster elections in Northern Ireland?
The whole of Northern Ireland elects three members to the European Parliament by STV; each parliamentary constituency elects six members to the Northern Ireland Assembly; and the 582 members of the 26 local councils are elected from 101 electoral areas, each of which returns five, six or seven representatives.
The biggest problem with this arrangement is that five of the six largest constituencies by electorate end up in Unit C, and the three smallest in Unit B, thus reinforcing rather than ironing out the disparities in population.
In addition, because of the concentration of disproportionately large constituencies in the south-east and of relatively small constituencies in the north-west, existing disparities in constituency size would probably be reinforced rather than ironed out.

However in Robinsons case being an Alderman in Castlereagh, MLA and MP for Strangford really does smack of greed and ego feeding, especially given her poor attendence record in Westminster and over enthusiastic claiming of every expense under the sun.
