In London, England, United Kingdom, an Islamist preacher named Abu Qatada was arrested for the attack, but was released on a lack of evidence.

He denied weapons inspectors access to several areas and would only allow them in some areas if the Iraqi government had a week of advance knowledge of the inspection, and even then he did not allow them to supervise some areas.
